An offer, I have the computer that I sourced for my Mom to use before she passed from a stroke, that I can send as a loaner. Prior to that her first stroke affected her speech (she could not speak or write) so we got this for her. There are also apps on the iPhone and the one that Steven Hawkins uses https://www.quora.com/How-does-Steph...ch-device-work
These may save him some mental stress and frustration.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your brother and your family. Hope he keeps improving and proving the doctors "practicing" medicine wrong.

    Mjorin,
The gofundme page was more than a success, although the results had to be changed. I say "more than a success" because it shows that the entire amount was collected, even though it didn't reflect what was given by tech-suspicious folks that don't "do" that electronic stuff. Like me ;-)
The jerk that he had the land trust with decided to essentially reneg on his end of the bargain. That put them in a scramble to do SOMETHING. But God does provide! He wound up buying a 10 acre slot with a nice home on it, all in the middle of corn fields. Very peaceful, out in the country.
I've spent a bunch hours during the last couple of weeks moving the household to the new place, and it's far from finished. But the deal went through, the loan was secured - and backed with a life insurance policy he's had for years now - and the kids are living there now.

Now for the rest of the story......
I'm up in the middle of the night, can't sleep, trying to make a pretence at normality.
Joe passed away earlier this morning. In that house. He made it out of the hospital yesterday, they took him there on hospice. Saturday morning his doctor told me that they had no plans for treatment after the last radiation treatment scheduled for yesterday - he'd expended every option known. And the radiation didn't give results.
He opted to go on his own terms, had the ET tube removed and meds stopped yesterday. The way he put it was that he was ready to go home with Jesus. That was a hard thing to get out of a guy that could only give yes-no answers and point at things. I'd always told him that whatever he said, I'd do it, and unfortunately that decision didn't change one damned thing. So we did it his way.
And this world is diminished by the loss.
Do you really think we want laws to be observed? We want them broken. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. When there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be crimes that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants law-abiding citizens? Pass the kind of laws that can’t be observed, enforced, or objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers.

OMG B. I am so sorry to hear, there is nothing I can say to ease your and family's pain. Remember the good memories, they will sustain and give you strength when it is the most difficult. Speak about him, laugh with him (he will be by your side), talk to him (he will give guidance).

Sorry to hear it dude. But, he's in a better place and no longer in pain. Enjoy the good memories and focus on helping his and your family from no on until you take that long journey yourself.
