    Military 'motivational' speech

Giving some Iraqi police a really good chewing out.

That guy, he said I should be oblong and have my knees removed. But I don't trust him, he plays the banjo.

Wow... what do you want to bet he gets reprimanded for that.

I'd say there is a lot of truth to that though.

I couldn't tell who he is, what unit, which police station, etc, not what date this happened, only that it was uploaded in the past 3 days, so maybe it was recent.

Language aside, he was doing pretty well until he started going after the one guy who was laughing. Not a huge fan of calling out leadership in front of their guys, but if they've really never been out there... well that's just not right at all either.

But lots of the main points of the "speech"; don't be in the Mahdi militia, stay loyal to Iraq, and venture outside the immediate town to look for the guys that will kill you; pretty valid points.

This is pretty old. Saw it when I was in iraq. Can speak for them now but I know at the time it was totally accurate. We would check up on some of the iraqi check points between biap and the green zone, I remember one time out of 3 iraqi police at a check point one was asleep, one was drunk (couldn't even answer me when I asked him where hi weapon was) and the other was missing. Cream of the crop right there.

Highly unlikely. That is essentially the job of the MTT/PPTs. We need to get these guys ready so the U.S. can un-ass the AO. You really do need to take a firm hand with these guys as Arabs are inherently lazy. Especially Iraqis. Corruption is a way of life for these guys. That will never change. So instead you need to focus on the things you can change. You do this by appealing to their strong sense of shame. Arabs in general and Iraqis in particular are fucking Martians. It does no good to treat them like Americans. The commanders over seeing the military transition of Iraq understand this, so that guy is pretty safe.

Arabs are pussies . After years in the sand pit , training arabs ( afghans, iraqis , Moroccans , tunisians ) its all wasted time and equipment and money . I'd rather watch monkeys f--- than see any more resources be wasted on arabs .
Arabs are fags , wimps . The middle east is a wastland for a reason , if there was no oil there no one would ever go there .. Arabs can't fix their own cars , etc . Islam has kept them ignorant and stupid for century's .

    +1

Totally different culture. If you want to train boogs, it's monkey see monkey do. You can talk to your hearts content and they'll smile and nod. When it comes time to do it, they'll look at you like you got a dick growing out of your forehead.

Even some of the nicer places in Dubai are still not up to par with luxury in the states. (I'll leave out the Burj Al Arab as I don't even have enough money for a post card of that place )

I'm quoting a friend when he said, it's what happens when you've gone from camels to Mercedes in the last 80+ years. Just because you have the money, doesn't mean you have the mindset.

    Erm, yes and no.

For centuries their medicine and science was way above that of the western world. Hell, if they hadn't invented decimal we'd still be counting with the Roman system. They had civilizations while we were living in caves and mud huts. They were mapping the stars while we still thought the earth was the center of everything. The problem is we moved on, they moved back. Oil made the wealthy Arabs greedy and that created a breeding ground for Islamic fundamentalists which in itself created a breeding ground for Islamic extremists. Islam didn't create centuries of ignorance in the way Christianity did. Also Morocans and Tunisians aren't Arabs, they are North African. Afghans aren't Arabs either, they are Central Asians. From the countries you listed the poor often have little education and little motivation for supporting a state that does little for them. In Iraq and Afghanistan we are seen as invaders and the other side pays them more to fight. You guys need to stop seeing their aspect from an American viewpoint. Oil has brought war and foreign nations into their region, fucking things up. you expect open armed welcome?

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.... Margaret Thatcher,

Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest.
