    Last ditch 9mm pistol

So folks, another request for opinions.

if you had to pick a 9mm pistol as your only pistol, what would you choose? I've already got blocks, a sig and a few others but am considering getting something else and would value the opinions of folks here. I'm sort of stuck between an M9A3, a CZ or something else. ...... or should I just get another Glock?

Me personally, last ditch, choose only one to take and hope it doesn't take a dump? I don't love Glocks but I would choose a Glock for this.

    E.T.A. That said, I still think a CZ75 or a Jericho(frame safety) would be a nice 9mm to shoot if you haven't.

Ya, only one? Glock. Hands down. Too many parts out there for decent prices, solid reliability, easy to care for, clean and strip down to component level, decent accuracy, simple design.

But, if you want striker fired.....there's some newer offerings I'm interested in: CZ P10C, Arsenal Stryk B, and the Beretta Apex (though I'm not sure that pin that rises out of the top of the slide with each shot is going to be a good idea long term or in really dirty environments).

Of the bunch, none are actually out yet....I've got money down on a Stryk B....and the P10C is on my list as well, but I'm hearing late April or May on both.

The differences in trigger pull in the hammer fired world coupled with the inherently higher bore axis have made me uninterested for the time being in adding any more to my collection.

Last ditch as in apocalypse type last ditch? If so then probably a Glock 19 followed by a M&P 9 then probably the CZ P-10c if it turns out to be as good as some are saying it will be.
Reasons; So many Glock and M&P out there, parts and magazines will probably be easier than all others to find. The CZ because it looks like it will be built Very robust at a price you can get to to keep one as a spare that you may not need.

Glock is the Toyota Hilux pickup of the pistol world. It's not pretty and it's not going to land you a hot date. But it will always get you from A to B... fall off a cliff and still work.

For the apocalypse? I'd go with a Glock 17. Parts availability and interchangeability, magazines are likely to be available, etc. Or maybe the 19, since the 17 mags will fit the 19 but not vice versa.

For something like home defense (i.e. "last ditch" meaning the weapon I could have in hand when facing an intruder in my bedroom, in my shorts)? I like the HK P30L (which is what I have in the underbed safe, in this role).

Every day is potentially your last. When I get dressed in the morning, my Kimber is on my hip. I train with my Kimber. I have a G23, M&P 40, and M&P 40 Shield, but it's my Kimber Master Carry Pro that's on my hip daily. Why would I take anything else?

Ammo...now that's an interesting question. I've recently become enamored with the Polycase Inceptors. The .45ACP is 115gr, 1300+ fps. The light projectile makes it feel like shooting a 9mm. I've put enough through the pipe that it is now my daily load. I haven't begun stockpiling yet. When I do, I'll likely load my own and add sealant to the mouth and primer. The RNPs are frangible, so training on steel up close isn't a concern. Lighter also equates to less mass to hump! I have yet to find something I don't like about these things.
    The 9 is 65gr, 1500+fps.

    That's interesting.

I switched my daily carry to a steel .45 loaded with 230 grain golden saber hollow points loaded in 45 Super brass. It chucks them out at 1070 fps but only feels like a hot .45 ACP load. Maybe I should ignore 9, I already have eight of then, and get another 45.

Glock, would be the pistol (barf). I really like the CZ P10. If I had any soul it would be a Hi-Power!

Just looked up the polycase interceptors. Never heard of them before. Interesting....if the hype is true. Seen a lot of "magic" bullets in the past that disappeared in a few years. If the 9mm is running 1545 fps....at 65 gr. I wonder what the recoil is like if your 115 gr. 1300+ fps .45 ACP feels like 9mm.
