    6.8 subsonic XCR?

I have a 12" barrel on my 6.8 (pistol......by definition only) and with the new stock coming out I thought of SBRing the thing finally. I like the concept of the 300 blackout but if I can get the same sort of function from a gun I've got then I'm not going to bother with the 300. I have a .308 suppressor and thought surely somebody has tried 6.8 subsonic in a semi gun by now. It turns out Corbon makes ammunition filling that bill but I'm wandering if anybody has tried such a thing in their XCR and if my suppressor will allow too much blow by to operate the action with the larger bore?

I used a YHM .308 on my XCR 11.5" .556 and had no issues with the cycling, so you should be good. It was quite too.

There is video floating around out there that I made of my 7" 6.8 barrel suppressed, shoots just fine. I wasn't aware of subsonic 6.8 ammo though.

I wasn't aware it was available until I started searching for subsonic 6.8 info. Apparently it has been done successfully.

Interesting, I would have thought that they would have used a heavier bullet. With all the available .270 bullets out there you could step up to a 140-150gr. Might have to play around with this when I get home.

My thoughts as well. I'd be interested to here how well anything over ~130 stabilizes in common 6.8 twist rates.

200 grain bullets with loading data

Requires at least a 1/7 twist
