I think they used a file photo of a 5.45 or a 5.56 because the follower doesn't look right either.

While I was at Knob Creek last weekend, I bought a C Products 10 rd 7.62x39 mag from Model 1 Sales. It functioned perfectly (fired 100 rd from it yesterday). Note: The 10th rd was much harder to load than rounds 1-9.

    Ok Folks,

Please find linked pictures of the Colt Sporter 20 round mag: http://s1198.photobucket.com/albums/...seph04/762x39/. Please let me know if you need any different pictures of the mag.

I am a bit concerned about one of the mags -- the one on the right as it seems the ammo seems to be a bit low and may not load properly. I went ahead and took it apart it was quite sticky. I will lube it and see if that makes a different in loading & unloading the ammo.

    thanks!

So have you shot your XCR with these mags yet?

Load'em up and hand cycle them thru the xcr. Then report back. Also what kind of lube. I use spray silicone to keep it dry.

Still waiting for the XCR... supposed to get to my dealer next week... Sigh...

Went to the Army Navy store, and picked up this ACU 6 mag pouch with adjustable straps. Looks like I will be able to put my three 30s and my three 20s in there just fine. ;D Although I am bit concerned about the the snaps being able to hold the weight when I connect it to my old ALICE belt. Best find something better to secure it better...

Still waiting on the XCR... Was supposed to be done last Friday; called in to Sales, and was assured that it would ship this Friday. End of October will be month four... :duh:

I have been reading the historical articles on breaking in the 7.62 mags. At this rate, the mags will be well broken in by the time I get the rifle. BTW, does anyone have the reference to Mr. Riggs's hammer trick on the mags. I have tried to search for it with no luck as I am not happy which how one of the 30 rounder C-Products and one of the 20 rounder loads the ammo. It just seems to be sitting too low, and looks like it is waiting for a failure to load. Anybody else seen that issue before? Is that a potential problem or I am just making too much of it?

    Thanks
