Hell yeah, I would like to see that conversion, 338 great bullet selection, would be great for hunting, 20 rounds in a mag just got to love that would feel very safe in any bear country with that. I think it would be a great addition also based on the 308 all you would really need is a barrel I think,Kev

Only problem is hunting regs won't allow a 20 round mag. :

depends on where you go. Some hog hunting places allow it. theres several i've found that run dpms 308's with 20 rd mags and night vision/thermal sights. Its pretty much a shoot till theres no more targets type deal. for that, i'd rather have the 338 than 308, specially if i run into a big hog
    There ain't many problems a man can't fix- with $700 and a 30-06!

Hmmm....I didn't know that. Here in AZ, most stuff is limited to 4-5 rounds.

yea, most places are. here's a video of a place in GA that does hunts. pay attention around the 5:25-6 min mark. you can see a 30rd mag in the AR15, and hear/see at least 5-6 rounds from the shooter on the left.

It should be relatively simple to modify a 20 rounder to get hunting capacity compliance. You simply need to block the magazine and cut the spring.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse.... A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.----John Stuart Mill
