    Can I convert my 7.62x39 to 7.62x51?

With so many issues with the mags on the 39 I was curious is I could convert mine to the 51 especially since I've got more ammo for that.

I do apologize if it's been discussed.

    Thanks,

    Mark

Have you looked at a 7.62x51 round? Look at your XCR-L mag well. How in the world is that ever going to fit? No way in hell.

As Scalton said it can't be done. But post up your issue and why you think it is the mags and we will try and help you sort it out. All you may need is some patience.

I was thinking a different lower receiver, bolt carrier and barrel.

Actually, the only way I can think of to do it requires 2 steps.

    1. Convert your 7.62 x 39 to cash. (Sell or trade it)
    2. Convert cash to new rifle.

While not always convenient, this method almost always works.

Or you could keep the XCR-L, sell the X39 kit and wait for the 300BLK kit.

And, yah, the -L and -M are not interchangeable... unfortunately.

You will need a new bolt and mag re chamber the barrel including head spacing !!! A good smith shouldn't have a problem but his Labour may cost more than a gently used one

    thanks Jason!
