I'd be really interested to see the internals of those rifles and how the work with the side charging handle...

I'm stuck between waiting for an XCR-M or going for an M14 NM in a Troy Industries stock. I'll give the XCR-M another months or so efore I give up waiting. Given the wait for a new trigger system i'm not holding my breath for the M version.

M wont be out for a bit still. I think the new stock is top priority because they want to use it on the XCR-M. Don't quote me on that though.

I don't imagine the M being available until after summer, but that is just a huge guess on my part.

    Re: LWRC's New .308 Rifle

    Hmmm, shame.

Given that it was supposed to be out around the end of 2007 I'm probably going to quit waiting and buy the M14 then. Nevermind, I love the .308 anyway and I've got friends who keep winging that it's the one .308 I should have to partner the FAL.

What do you guys think of the Foulton Armory National Match rifles? It's going to be one of these or posisbly the LWRC 308, but the M14 is a nice piece. Suggestions please as the only .308s I really know are the HK and FAL families.

    Yes, very impressive.
But it's just another AR clone, isn't it?

It doesn't have that heavy duty intigrated rail chassis like the XCR.

Oh yea, can the XCR fire in my bath tub?

Mickey, Have you looked at the Springfield Armory SOCOM II??? I have one, and it is handy as hell. It's made by the people who MAKE the M1A, so it's all quality. Wish I was closer, you could try mine. :sniper2:

    Re: LWRC's New .308 Rifle

There isnt much "AR15" about there .308 Rifle. It is a gas piston rifle. There lower looks to be a DPMS and the uppers look all there own. The LWRC rifles are very well built. I really like the XCR and LWRC. Whenever someone asks the question "Should I buy X or Should I buy Y" and both are decent tools of the trade my anwser is always "Buy both and you wont have to make such a hard decision"

It looks like we will have many new .308 Rifle selections by the end of the year.

    Re: LWRC's New .308 Rifle

Aziator, I have a full size M1A gone through by Hook Boutin, ex USA Marksmanship unit, and the SOCOM II. The full size rifle will place all the shots, shooter capable, in one ragged ass hole. The SOCOM II cant do that with its short barrel. However, the SOCOM II is handy as all hell with the VTOR stock in a short package .308. > I also like FALs, but their sights don't dont do them justice. :2cents:
