    Re: LWRC's New .308 Rifle

LWRC's rifle is going to have a Canadian specific version from what I am told which will not be considered an AR variant. Which by canadian restrictions is excellent meaning it will be a non restricted rifle provided it has a 18.5" or longer barrel. Please hurry Robarm as this LWRC rifle is going to make it hard for me to wait for the XCR-M. :crossedfingers: Even though I will probably buy both. >

Texas, the SOCOOM II is a GREAT rifle. It is a .308 Battle rifle, with it you can shoot THROUGH about anything the asshole you are engaging is hiding behind. With all the bees buzzing around his ass, he is unlikely to be doing the right thing........... returning fire! I have carried the M-16 in harms way...... and in my opinion it is under powered. If I have to shoot your ass.... I want a well placed round (hopefully the FIRST) to lock your ass up and put you out of the fight. Give me a .308 battle rifle, and I can make your life miserable to 500 meters or more. With the .308 I can slice and dice what you are hiding behind. Sure you can't carry as much ammo for the .308, nor is it very controlable on auto, but pound for pound it gives you more options during times of heartpounding shit. :2cents:

I don't understand why full auto is needed with such rifles. You can put alot of bullets down range with a semi all you have to do is pull the trigger real fast. Full auto is just a waste of ammunition if you ask me. If you are incapacitating your enemy with a one or a few shots; a whole boatload of ammunition isn't needed.

Aussie, what is your price for the POF 308 and LWRC 308 rifles? I'm very interested and really don't think I want to wait for the XCR-M.

16/18 or 20" barrel will do me fine.

Mr Smitty, full auto is NOT needed normally. Aimed fire does not get their heads down, aimed fire KILLS them. But if you get ambushed it is a NECESSITY to break contact and full auto can get the other guy to keep his head down so you can break contact and run your happy ass away. I don't need it...... but it is fun. ;D
