    Kel-Tec .308 Bull Pup

Check this out http://www.defecsereview.com/modules...icles&sid=1096 for the new Kel tech .308 bullpup. Looks like FAL mags to me, neat.

Assuming it is a quality item I am very interested. I like the idea of shooting a .308 from a 20" barel in somethng not much bigger than an M4. Stick a PWS compensator on the front and it would be a real chuckle.

Becareful with it though, it might be a trick. Keltec could be under the mind control of Africa, this may be an attempt to transmit AIDs to any man, man enough to buy a bullpup .308 assault rifle... Handle with care!

I'm watching this one, but having looked at the Kel-Tec site I am more then a little worried about the complexity of this system, and how it will hold up to heavy use or dirt. I would have rather they designed a more "traditional" bullpup that would have allowed conversion for left to right hand ejection. While I haven't kept up on the latest concerning the FN Bullpup, I do recall reading that it is prone to a particularly nasty jams do to it's unique ejection. That would concern me with this design as well. In my opinion the lack of ejection port access might make "simple" jams into "horrible-gotta-field-strip" jams.

I would really like this design to work out and be wonderful, but I have strong doubts about any weapon that attempts a "new" ejection technique.

    YMMV

    Fal.

P.S. I do like the use of FAL mags though. Honestly wish the XCR-M was coming with FAL mags.

I've heard a lot of conserns about the forward ejection with the FN F2000, but no reports of actual problems.
Your chance of getting shit lodged in the Forward ejection tubes' probably less then getting shit stuck in the barrel...

    Rainely,

It was a while ago but I remember reading something tangible about these issues.
I'll see if I can find something to post.

I have an FS2000 and rarely have jams. It's probably about as good as my AR. The difference being that you can oil the FS without dust issues as the working parts are all hidden away.

RE: the XCR-M, I agree I'd like to see either FAL or HK mags. They are cheap, incredibly reliable and basically they simply work.
