    Brass Catcher?

Any suggestions for a brass catcher to use with the XCR?
I'm tired of having to keep an eye on the brass buzzards at the local range.

    Re: Brass Catcher?

Tell me about it!! They (the infernal brass buzzards) sit back and wait for me to go change targets, then they grab my brass! It's easy to tell where MY brass lands since it ejects out at the 2 o'clock position onto the concrete in front of the benches. Doesn't stop the buzzards from grabbing a few, though.

They're not to hard to catch, but they are still hot so be careful.

I'd be interested in this too if anyone has had good success with one. Double points if it can also be used on an AR15 with optics mounted.

:duh: Sorry I thought this was a humor thread.

I have seen one in a magazine that fits on your wrist. I think this might have been for pistol shooting.
There is a rifle mounted one on www.dillonprecision.com search for brass catcher.

    Re: Brass Catcher?

Years back I remember someone at the range using a pvc gizmo with netting installed. He was even able to tale it apart for transportation to/from the range. Must have pissed off the brass bastards. :2cents:

    Re: Brass Catcher?

I always take an extra target stand with a target and set it up next to the table I am shooting near. It deflects about 80% of the brass down at my feet. Not sure if it is OK (need to call ROBARM) but I leave my 6.8 shell deflector on when shooting 5.56, the brass goes straight out at 3o'clock instead of forward. It makes finding the brass a little easier (and setting up a barrier to deflect it). My last course of action is to take up the last shooting position on the far right so that all my brass goes into the berm and I can pick it up easily.

I have seen the PVC contraption, seemed to work well for the guy that had it. Google Brass catcher and you will find tons of info.

BTW GR8, do you shoot out at the range in Hobbs state park? I shot out there once this past summer and thought it was pretty nice.
