Gotcha da Costa flip-twist going. One tip - when you release the bolt on a '14, if you're not going to go with one of those after-market bolt locks (I don't either), run the support hand up and over to catch the charging handle. Just like an AK.
Keeps the firing hand where it should be (ready to fire) which translates into faster reloads.
Do you really think we want laws to be observed? We want them broken. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. When there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be crimes that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants law-abiding citizens? Pass the kind of laws that can’t be observed, enforced, or objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers.

Yah, I pull the OP rod out of the groove every so often when I do it that way. I'll give it a try next time though...

    Uh... vertical video syndrome.

Sorry about that before I filmed the clips I reminded myself to film in landscape not portrait, then totally forgot.

    Matty,

Saw you first on the M14 forum.
Ha! What are the odds we both have an XCR and an M1A and frequent the same forums?

Matt, I'm curious as to why you use the charging handle on the 14, but the bolt hold-open on the XCR to release the bolt on a newly inserted magazine. If you're willing to use the XCR's BHO for release, why not the bolt stop on the 14? Be it charging handle or bolt stop, why not use the same technique regardless of firearm?

Also, while you don't do it every time, your practice of "two shots then change mags" seems like a real habit. This is your only video I've seen, so I'm sure there's a lot I don't know about your training/practice habits, but I'd hate like Hell for you to get your ass shot off, only for the authorities to find a 30-rd PMAG lying next to you with 28 rounds still in it.

NukMed, there are at least a handful of us here. Bravo and I are also among the M1A and XCR owners.

Former revolver shooter. Rotates weapon 60 degrees after every shot to negate the Coriolis effect. Only the hyper chill know of the importance of this.
