    I'd have tried this earlier but the Gas tube is the issue. The Type 3 is a little longer so you need a different length tube. I don't have any of those yet. They're on order.

    Don't go to any trouble....it's not that big of a deal. I was just wondering in terms of backwards and future compatibility.

    So the piston's the same and the gas tube needs to be longer? Guess it makes sense with the new design of the type 3 block.

    The type 3 gas block extends further to the rear. The tube needs to be a little shorter.
