About a month ago I was able to grab a used XCR in 5.56 for just a little over 700 after taxes. I recently took it to the range and loved every second of this rifle! I'm still learning about the rifle through Robinson's website and the forum. Pics are in my house, I apologize for the terrible lighting in advance, but if anyone can help identify exacts about this rifle it would be well appreciated!
I'll post the BCG/Piston in a second post here in a minute!
Lower is a "second" gen. Originals didn't have the integral trigger guard. Things missing from the most current spec: Ambi mag release, type 2 carrier and possibly the latest BHO but I can't tell from the pic. None of those are show stoppers by any means.
Upper is a "first". They started doing the full pic rails in the 6-7000 range I think. You've got the "light" piston, latest is the one piece (yours has the welded foot). Type 1 carrier and bolt.
There are "upgrades" but if it shoots fine, I'd ride with what you've got. I'd have no problem paying $700 for what you got.
Congrats on your Xcr and welcome to the family....
You will get a lot more help here on the forum than you will ever get at the "official" Robinson website......
Ya, at $700...that's a great deal for what you got. I'd probably leave it alone...it also has the enhanced trigger at that SN....unless you just want more ambi features. Might grab a one piece op rod as a spare since welds have broken...but extremely rarely.
Wish I could find deals like this. I've got a friend who's been looking for a deal like this for years.
