I had the same problem with the SOCOM 553 model. The lower 1/3 co-witness sucks. I know its all the rage with some in the "tactical" community, but I prefer absolute co-witness
I put the YHM BUIS on mine with the EOTech 512 and it co-witnesses perfectly. 8)
I think the 553 sits a little higher than the 512. The only way to address is to get the 1/2" rail riser from YHM for both front and rear sights but this would look out of place I think. This will give close to absolute co-witness. Variable what did you end up doing?

Ok, I'm pretty new to this forum; picked up my XCR-L a couple weeks ago. I've been to the range a bit and finally took some pictures to show it off. Pretty simple for now, I added a little color (like I've seen here) and I'd like to do some Duracoat later.

I guess late is better then never so I am back online and posting.

The biggest difference between the two barrels is really COG (center of gravity). The light makes the rifle IMO perfectly balanced but also is a little bit of diet for a rifle that has two Larue mounts, a magnifier, eotech, G5 supressor, M4 Devastator Light and BUIS.
On my Jesus rifle Trijicon scope, John 12:46 "I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness."
*update* the latest ACOG's we received have the damn biblical passage removed.
I say Trijicon kicks ass and should continue the practice of placing biblical passages on all scopes!!!

awesome setup man. how's the xcr's suppressed performance?
The performance is GREAT, I had a RRA M4 and suppressed the rifle is reliable to about 200 rds before I wouldn't trust it. I am at about 3000rds suppressed without a cleaning. Anyone want to buy a used XCR? J/K

    I traded the 553 for a 552.
