    Silencerco Sparrow

Anyone have a Sparrow around here? I just sent the paperwork off for one yesterday, let the wait begin.

Yep, I own one. A bit more expensive than some, but I wanted the ease of dissassembly and cleaning. The first time out, I cleaned it after firing ~200 shots. I will now be waiting until about 400 or so shots, as there wasn't much to clean after 200 shots. Seems plenty quiet to me. Std vel ammo was quieter than HV. Slight first round pop.

Yeah, I have an AAC Element so I understand the desire to have a take apart can. I was offered a screaming deal for this one, one that I couldn't pass up, hence me selling some stuff off in the next few weeks.

Hint: You know how the Sparrow has those 2 inner "clam shells"? There will be build up in them. Solvent will get the looser stuff, but leave the hard build up. Get yourself a .45 brass case empty (I use a 45/70 empty). Hold the case at a shallow angle and it can be used to scrape off the build up and doesn't damage the aluminum clam shell at all.

I have an AAC Element, just couldn't pass on the price of the Sparrow. I also have an AAC Aviator pending transfer all well. That one will be dedicated to my Spikes upper.
