Any pending change in 6.5 G for the XCR-L?

Give the news ( here and here ) that the 6.5 G is now SAAMI-approved and un-encumbered by any Alexander Arms trademarks, will we see any progress on a 6.5G conversion for the XCR-L?

Thats a good question. The only reason I got an XCR was because one of the changable barrels was a 6.5G. If this project is a no-go, then I might just sell my XCR and go with an AR :-\

It no longer matters to me. Three years ago I was ready to buy a 6.5 XCR. Since then, I've lost interest.

And anyway, at 7.5 pounds the XCR is too heavy for me...

I can see your point of the weight issue with this rifle. But with the performance of this cartridge? I will take the weight and the superior design/engineering of the Robinson Arms. Durability and performance outshine the weight. I am a collector and just use it for the range. Occasionally, I hunt boar in Florida.

The little extra weight only matters when you are on a strenous task/mission. Throw some of the "extra bullshit" you are hauling in your ruck and press on. We all have our priorities........ and a mounds bar in a firefight just doesn't matter.

For me, it matters a lot. I have MS, and it's really wreaked havoc on my muscles over the last few years.

Just picking up my 5.5-lb M1 carbine is a strenuous task. It feels heavier to me now than the M1918A2 BAR did when I was 17.

In order to get a 7.5-lb XCR to the range, I'd need to hire a gun bearer. LOL
