Need a current update on the Robinson XCR 6.5?

When possibly will the Robinson XCR in 6.5 be available? Perhaps next year?
Truly waiting for this rifle and kit if possible.Cheers.

The really hasn't been a peep about the 6.5 lately. Love to see it, but I doubt we ever will.

The R/A XCR 6.5 once available...is going to sell like hotcakes. If the price is right and not priced similiar to the XCR-M. So many people want this caliber. If Wolf manufactures the bullets and the price is reasonable. This caliber could put Robinson over the top. Also, if they make a kit available for the XCR-L.
I have read about AR bolts that fail with this caliber.
On the Bushmaster ACR platform a company called
www.argonautsreinc.com/products is making bolts for the 7.62x39 and the 6.5.
Which looks promising but I am not interested in the BM ACR platform.

Over on the ACR forum, a couple folks have used Mike's bolts for 7.62x39 and have had great success. Other then Mike, I haven't heard anyone taking the 6.5 plunge yet.

Once ammo is available and the prices comes down a little, it will become more popular. Especially the long range shooters.

Unfortunately we can't even get 5.45x39 barrel outta RA, (to include other things) Owell, someday someone will take the bull by the horns and make something happen.

Yes ,I want to keep all my weapons to .40 cal., 7.62x39, and 12 gauge calibers. Trying to keep all my weapons to three calibers. Now to stock up on ammo.
Attempting to make it as simple as possible. Now I am planning to sell my Robinson 6.8 SPC to covert it to the AK kit. Life is good. Even though the 6.8 SPC is awesome.
Its just that I am trying to be practical.

Baddfrog, you may want to keep that 6.8 SPC, there have been large military units deployed with the 6.8 (brigade strength). Its a good possiblility that it will catch on. Special Forces have used it quite a bit from my understanding as well. To keep things simple, stick with NATO calibers as they'll be easy to find, not that thier always the best. I have a 6.5 that I keep ammo stocked for along with 5.56.

LWRC has convinced ATK to strart loading 6.8, which they now have. I suspect this will end up being a shot in the arm for the caliber.

HellCat your right. My son is really pissed off. He loves the XCR. I believe that the 6.8SPC,300 Whisper,.308, and 5.56 are going to be the calibers. All the big manufacturers are going to be pushing the 300 Whisper this year.

If you contact Alex directly, you might be able to talk him into getting you a test barrel. Last I heard they had some laying around but the accuracy wasn't what they wanted so they never put them out as a kit. One of the problems may be the twist rate. Not sure if he's gotten new barrels to test yet, last time I talked to him was almost a year ago. As for the .300 Whisper.Blkout, theres nothing that round can do that the 6.5, 6.8, or .308 can't do better with the exception of subsonic/supressed fire.

I too, waited a long time on the 6.5. But, it took so long that I finally went with the 6.8 SPC.

On a different subject, I'd probably buy an AAC 300 BO conversion kit if RA brought one out.
