Aren't the 264 LBC and 6.5 Grendel [b]cartridges identical? I thought it's only the chamber dimensions in which there are minor differences.
It seems like Les and Bill Alexander must have had a falling out???
    Seems like a logical conclusion.

Can you cite a source for that claim?

Stanc, well I KNOW it happened in the 60s, while I was in the AF, but am afraid I DON'T have the proof at hand. The Air Force testing was done at Lackland AFB. The Navy Seals tested the round in Viet-Nam. I am sure it is in some search file someplace.

We now have better choice of both powders and projectiles for the 6x45 (6mm x .223) Here is "some" background info....

(I couldn't get the blog to come back up..... go to sinclair and search 6mm x 223 for the article)

No problem with the thread hijack, I was hoping for interesting discussion.
Does anyone have any references to the actual difference, if any between .264 LBC and 6.5 Grendel?
And, as I have mentioned before, I'd still like to see the 6.5 MPC be a player if it will get me a 6.5 bullet coming out of my XCR.
6x45 is a nice option too, anything that will get the bullet weight up to 100-125 grains in a more aerodynamic form than the ones for 7.62x39.

The cartridges are the same, except for the name. There are small differences in chamber neck. See discussion at: http://www.65grendel.com/forum/showt...newpost&t=7318

Another 6.5 option might be the old .264 Warrior Magnum, which is apparently being resurrected: http://warriorarms.com/-Q638.html

Come on RobArms, I want my Grendel rifle.. or .264, whatever, if it'll fire the 120 6.5 Wolf Goldline MPT (actually Prvi Partisan) accurately like the AA guns, I'm set
    The Rules:
    1. Bring a gun, Preferably bring two guns. Bring all your friends who have guns.
    2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice, AKA Double Tap
    3. Only hits count, the only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss
    4. If your shooting stance is good, you're probably not moving fast enough or using cover correctly
If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a long gun and a friend with a long gun
Rule of Unarmed Combat: Never be unarmed

Putting together a 6.5 Grendel or equivalent is not that challenging. I can't see why RobArm has had so much trouble, unless there is some kind of flaw in the XCR bolt or lockup designs.

MickeyC, I agree, what is the problem? Several manufactures. AA be damed, are producing components for the 6.5 Grendel already that seem to be working. WTF?

The only thing Bill Alexander owns in the name Grendel becasue he didn't invent the round. He co-developed it. If it works in an AR but not the 'superior' XCR, something has got to be wrong. Even Model 1 offers a 6.5 barrel these days.
