    6.5 barrel options

So this was suggested on another thread. I will forward this to the powers that be for input though obviously I dont know how much stock they will put in it. Please vote if you know what you would actually buy. If you need ballistic info check this site, alexanderarms.com or 65grendel.com

I'm in for a 14.5 pinned to 16" and either a 20 or 24" bbl to squeeze out some distance.

I voted 18.5". with a round like 6.5x39 the benefit of the longer tube out weighes the advantage of a shorter O.A.L. rifle
A M16 is a fancy city girl, sexy as hell, but a bit moody. It's all good as long as you take her to the clubs and get what she asks. If you cross the? line, its over.

An AK is a naughty girl, all in latex and with a whip begging you to be naughty. The nastier you are the happier she is. Its clear that she wont dump you, you'll have to do that on your own.
The XCR is the perfect blend of both. Sexy as hell but willing to let you beat her and filthy her up and then beg for more.

I need to get back on the grendel forums and see if anyone has done anything nearly as extensive with the 6.5 out of short barrels as has been done with the 6.8. I would go 10" or 12" depending on the results, and it is my understanding that the grendel is optimal in an 18.5" according to Alexander Arms. Some guys are getting good results with some ridiculously long barrels at extreme range, but I just don't have too much interest in a long, heavy XCR, when the advantages are seemingly small beyond 18.5.

Of course 14.5 pinned would be nice for min. length w/o SBR paperwork, so I went back and included that one, too. Unlike 5.56, I just don't think there's enough gap in performace between 14.5 and 18.5 to make 16 useful.

I want to say chopping 2" takes off about 50 fps. There's a great chart on 65grendel.com
