    Virginia and the Big Igloo

    Anyone else following along with what's going on?

    Governor just declared a state of emergency.....this is pretty surreal. It appears the inevitable conclusion is all that's left to occur.

    He declared a state of emergency because he's afraid people will exercise their first amendment rights and engage in political speech he doesn't agree with?

    Wow. Just wow.

    ....and in so doing laid out the path for this event to funnel directly into what the state does better than anything else....

    Couple that with the weird drone flights in the Colorado/Kansas states and then an emergency secret meeting of Kansas legislators there are some crazy things going on. Stay safe and only trust proven people.

    I read a meme (haven't verified) that VA legislators changed the % required rules for a recall vote after gun proponents got enough % signatures of the last vote to get a new election. Searched...can't find any mention of this. Guessing it's internet bullshit. Can anyone provide a link?

    Sean, that's mostly true. The meme you read appears to have the timing of events wrong. But they are currently making the requirements harder, probably because of the response to this governor.

    This bill: https://lis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/leg...MUh7j8IZqGBXQg

    Which is currently in the Virginia legislature, where it is guaranteed to pass because the Democrats control both houses and the governor is a democrat;

    Raises the required number of signatures for a recall from 10% of the voters casting ballots in the election to 25%.

    Thanks Tom.

    Yeah...to me, that's the definition of tyranny. The government is trying to re-write its rules in an attempt to keep the people from having a voice.

    As St. Augustine, St. Thomas Acquinas and MLK said, "An unjust law is no law at all".
