    Coming 'Change'

Ok so its looking like this election could see the house shift from the left to the right, and perhaps even a good slice of the Senate. BUT the question is, will it change anything?

There has been talking of repealing Obamacare ever since it was signed, but will it happen? Keeping the tax cuts (oh no, then we'd have to stop spending!), but again will we see it?

    Opinions?

Are we going to see Obama toss out his 3rd, 4th, 5th... Nth veto? Or if it came to it would he sign a repeal of Obamacare, Sign the continued tax cuts, Stop stimulus spending?

Those who were not there will never know Those who were will never forget.

barring some type of galvanizing incident...which leads to obama remaining in office....no.

    nothing will change.

The republicrats are as corrupt as the demopublicans.

    nothing will change.

    Re: Coming 'Change'

I both agree and disagree with Chris-as usual ...I don't think we'll see any significant changes, barring a major incident-and probably even in the case of a major incident. It took a LONG time slowly drifting to the left to get us where we are today. There were a few major steps, but overall I think it was the slight drift over time that moved us far more than a few major shifts. I think-and hope-that maybe this November will continue the slow, small change of course that's been visible here and there recently. The last two major supreme court cases shifted thigs significantly in favor of the Second Amendment, and if the successful challenges continue, one of the major obstacles to me ever moving back to California might actually be removed in the next few years!
The PEOPLE support the Second Amendment in a large majority, and they oppose Obamacare and reckless spending. I think it might actually be better in the long run if we DON'T see sweeoing changes overnight, because then the temptation would be to celebrate our great victory and let down our guard, and we wopuld probably lose all that we had gained and more.
Just look at the former Soviet Union-you can look at the day the Berlin Wall came down as the "day" the tide turned, but they were in a long, slow decline prior, and they are anything but a model of democracy and capitalism today. Something as massive as a large and powerful nation CAN'T make a drastic change overnight, no matter how significant the agent of change may be. But even a slight CONTINUING push in the opposite direction will bring great change over time. Even a strong push won't change much immediately-imagine a massive 1,000 foot ship...if you steer it one degree or 20, you won't see any real change immediately, but over time the change in course will amount to hundreds and hundreds of miles.

I agree. Nothing will change. Both sides would rather spew vitriol at each other than actually do anything that helps working Americans. Case in point, both Bush and Obama bailed out Wall Street and banking fat cats while the middle class suffered record unemployment etc. Average Americans no longer have a say in government anymore.

Healthcare as a whole won't be repealed but I do think portions of it will be. If that happens then it'll be a one term presidency because other than that, what is his legacy? As for GOP vs. Dems, I agree though, they're all punks for the most part. If nothing else happens other than smug Pelosi and dipsh!t Reid get booted I'd actually be happy.
When have any of our plans ever actually worked? We plan, we get there, all hell breaks loose.

XCRfan started a good thread that points out that the blame based on debt celing will be blamed wholy on the right. Change is comming, but not the change you are probably thinking of. If things go bad enough you aren't going to care about who is in power, you will be too busy buying loaves of bread that cost $100k. Serious inflation is coming, and it will most likely be hyperinflation. Times are going to get tough.

If the vote swing is significant enough, yes there will be change as it sends the message that the electorate is not happy. Particularly if long term incumbents get the boot too.

I just fear they'll be replaced by more of the same.

The tea party is already well under control.

Speaking of the Tea party, The Delaware Republicans must be kicking themselves every time Christine O'Donnell speaks. They could have easily won that election. Instead, it will be democrat.
