    Seized XCR-L Barrel.

    Hey everyone.

Just got back from the range only to find out my XCR-L's chamber is full of mud (P-Mag had mud inside of it, didn't see it, loaded it = Chamber full of mud.)

Got home, took down the gun cleaned out as much mud as I could, removed the barrel screw only to find my barrel won't budge.... at all.

I've tried lubing it, pulling on it to no avail. There is no rust, or debris outside some left over mud which I couldn't get inside the chamber.

It is REALLY suck, and was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem I would love to hear some suggestions!

    Thanks!

I would try to get a piece of wood dowel in there and give it a good smack.

I would do the same. Assuming of course that the retention bolt is backed off correctly.....

P.S. is that grip tape on the charging handle? I like it!

Just yesterday I had the same problem but with a locking nut of an AR10 FF rail seizing. The thing felt like it was welded on! I even broke a strap wrench trying to take it off. I put it in boiling water and that did the trick. Heat guns work the same for stubborn threads, but they can sometimes mare the finish.

Yeah, not to insult but make sure you remove the barrel retention bolt enough.

PB Blaster, heat and a wood dowel like everyone said.

Be careful using heat on seized parts. It sometimes can cause the parts to gall and if that happens heat will only make things worse.

Use some PB blaster and let it soak over night and put the barrel in a vise (use padded jaw covers or some wood to protect the finish on the barrel) and try to turn the barrel a little while pulling on it.

Not to hi jack your thread, but how do you like the frog lube? I'm still on the fence if it's nothing more than overpriced snake oil.
