I recently picked up a new 7.62 xcr. I haven't had a change to really get in to it or fire it yet, but I noticed a potential problem between the upper and lower receivers. Where the upper meets the lower back by the stock the upper sticks out to the left almost a 16th of an inch, and is recessed on the other side. The receiver lock is seated properly, and they remain locked tight until the button is pressed. Is this a problem?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Nope, not at all. It is designed that way and if I recall correctly Terra posted about it somewhere. You will be just fine. Take lots of ammo and go have fun.

They all are offset to some degree. I think it was something to do with ensuring the charging handle didn't catch on the receiver.
When have any of our plans ever actually worked? We plan, we get there, all hell breaks loose.
it's and intentional design element meant to allow some space for the charging handle slider to operate.
