    Bolt jamming

Hello everyone I just bought a used7.62x39 kit and the bolt is jamming against the barrel. Anyone have a idea how to fix it?

The bolt isn't going into battery?

It's hard to tell from the pic on my phone but it doesn't look like the barrel extension is lined up right.

    Anymore pics?

Agreed....looks like as the bolt cams it's not aligning to the bbl extension.

Is the bolt in the carrier properly? I've assembled the bcg and op rod wrong before.

Can we get a pic of the barrel extension/chamber without the bolt in the way? Pic of the bolt face?

Just a though, but it may be worth double checking that the barrel is seated correctly, and that the set screw is not self centering and aligning the barrel correctly.

    Edit to add "not"

What's the lug on the top of the bolt look like? I've seen those get worn before.

I've been monkeying with one of my uppers and it looks like what you've got (based solely on the one picture) is the bolt twisting early.

The bolt doesn't jam every time, im thinking the bolt has to much play in the receiver. my 223 bolt has never had this problem.

Can you wiggle the bolt when it's fully installed? IE take the receiver off the lower. Check the lug on top of the bolt. Have you tried your 223 bolt with the x39 barrel? It should still go into battery.

Try this first. It looks like your barrel is not seated in far enough. The extension should extend into the open part of the reciever 1/16 to 1/8 in my experience. If your barrel screw is not centered in the extension dimple, your barrel may be slightly rotated.

Yes I can wiggle it, seems to have more play then my 223 bolt. I tried 223 bolt with the 7.62 barrel couldn't get it to jam. I'm thinking the bolt maybe abit out of spec.
