Firing Pin Buffer New Style Firing Pin?

I had a broken firing pin on my new style bolt/firing pin. When removing the old roll pin in the bolt it came out quickly and I didn't see any firing pin buffer like in the owner's manual directions for the old style firing pin. Does the new style firing pin use a buffer? If so does it go in at the hat end of firing pin?

I installed it with a buffer in the pin but it restricts basically all movement. Without a buffer it feels normal.

    TIA

Re: Firing Pin Buffer New Style Firing Pin?

I bought my XCR used but in new condition in April 2007. I shot it only a few times and now I want to know more about it.
Does this rifle have the new firing pin style or the old?
    What is the difference?

I wanted to order some spare parts, including the firing pin on the website. The website does not specify if the firing pin is the new style or the old style. It just shows this:
    Firing Pin 5.56 NATO
    Price: $9.99
Will this part fit my rifle?
If not, what do I have to do?

    Thank you.

We ship the new style firing pin as a default, unless the customer specifies otherwise.
