XCR won't accept a fully loaded 30 round Magazine with Bolt Closed

I'm pretty sure this is normal for an XCR but I just figured I would get
    some other Opinions.

I found this out the hard way at a Carbine class doing a Admin reload :
The friggin mag hit the dirt when it fell free.

I should know better......... BTW My AR's don't have this issue unless I
    use older Pmags.

I had it happen with M16's and M4's posting out after the clearing barrel check several times. When I was lucky the mag wouldn't bust open (most were pretty old and well beyond service life but nobody wanted to buy new mags) and spit rounds everywhere. I only load up to 28 unless it's just at the range plinking around.
When have any of our plans ever actually worked? We plan, we get there, all hell breaks loose.

I also download to 28 usually....I fucked up and loaded 30 in a few Pmags at a carbine class
and during Admin reload drills I grabbed a fully loaded Mag and tried to insert it.... :
    It fell to the ground...

It goes out to your grandfather, me, in Viet-Nam................. KISS.............. don't load max number of rounds REMF! It is better to have 18 or 28 RELIABLE rounds available than your dick in your hand.

Thank you TZOID, I knew there was something about you (intelligence) that I liked. It is the nasty bastard, that hunkers down, with that "1" round that will "gong" a perfectly good day/night. Don't worry about the NUMBER of rounds you have, worry about the rest of the shit.... breath control, etc.

I was taught to always smack and then tug the mag to verify seating. I do it with pistols too. This little ditty has saved me many failed mag insertions during a rather "vigorous" team tactics class. downloading a round or two even with pmags can help, although the HK and Pmags both should have sufficient compression left with 30 rounds to seat the mag with a good smack.

They work in my AR's with 30 rounds loaded...did you read the post carefully?

I appreciate the tip but I know how to load a mag properly...I posted this in the problem section to get feedback
on whether or not other XCR owners can insert a fully loaded 30 round mag in their XCR with the bolt closed.

I've been able to seat pretty much all of them fully loaded with the bolt closed, but it's deceptive. You push it in to where it seems like it's seated, but it's not, you have to push on it again fairly hard to actually get the catch to engage. Probably not something you want to have to take the time with in a stressful situation.

Re: XCR won't accept a fully loaded 30 round Magazine with Bolt Closed

I recall back in 2006 when I bought my 1st XCR VB telling me that XCR's don't
like a fully loaded 30 round mag with the bolt closed...I bet it's in the suggested
break in document he made up years ago.

    I'll try to find it.
