    "Guests" Hammering the Database again?

    Hey Lex, is the db being hammered again. My New Replies and Unread POsts are not updating again. I see 48 guests connected now, Thanks.

    I just turned off guest browsing again. I'll permanently keep it off this time until I move to a different server.

    Thanks, Sir. Can you put an announcement that Guests can see on the Home page that it is turned off so that it does not affect people checking the site out before registering?

    On another forum I am on, we had a huge number of "guests" browsing and it turned out that it was Google browsing and caching all the pages. It made the forum more visible (because google searches returned hits on more posts) and brought in more regular users (who found the forum via google). I'm not sure if you'd consider those to be good or bad things here.
