An update and a video slideshow for you today.

My physical condition has greatly improved since December. I'm able to walk normally and even run a short distance, but my knees are still a little screwed up and I'm working on strengthening those joints with lots of daily exercise. There is some ossification in my knees, so I can't bend all the way to a squat, but at least I can stand from any seated position these days. I have VA approval for several non-VA appointments that surround my elbow surgery, but I'm still waiting for the actual dates to be worked out. The orthopedic surgeon is going to first fix my right elbow, then the left sometime after I'm recovered from the first operation. Then they'll worry about my hands/fingers. My elbows are a priority to restore some quality of life to my daily activities.

My dad helped me fabricate some extension tubes that allow me to brush my own teeth and shave my own face. They're just PVC pipes that hold my electric toothbrush and razor so I can get the devices close enough to my face to use them with my unbending arms. It seems silly, but even that little bit of independence makes a huge difference. I have always been an independent person and needing help for just about everything was bad for my self-esteem.

Aaaaanyway ... in all my spare time I have have been training myself to use some of the computer apps that may help with my photography in the future. I've created a new YouTube channel for only photography related videos and shifted some of those videos from my personal YT account. I also created a new video slideshow of some of the beautiful models I've worked with (Not Safe For Work):

I have used iMovie for years and each time Apple updates the app I feel like they're beating me over the head with attempts to simplify its use for beginners. I was about to bite the bullet and spend $300 for Final Cut Pro X, but after watching some tutorials on iMovie, I found it satisfies almost every need I have. And since it's free ... well, that's just awesome. Garageband (also free!), on the other hand, is super-powerful. Its ability to create music from nothing is amazing and once you get into the advanced features, it seems like there is nothing you can't do. I can see why some people switch from Windows to Mac just for this one app.

    Right on!
Glad you're on the mend Phil!
Do you really think we want laws to be observed? We want them broken. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. When there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be crimes that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants law-abiding citizens? Pass the kind of laws that can’t be observed, enforced, or objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers.

Phil, just saw your post about the accident. Dammit, sorry it happened but glad you're doing better.

Having purchased prints of two of your photos, and having had them framed for an ungodly amount of money, and having had them hanging in my office for the last year, I can honestly say that not a day goes by that I don't admire your work.

Sent some money to you at GFM, hope your recovery continues and you get back up to full speed soon.

My photo-hosting site has added a new feature that allows me to share galleries with only invited guests. This allows me to open my Nudes gallery to anyone on the guest list.

If you're interested, PM me your email address and I'll add it to the list. You'll have to create a guest account to access the gallery, but this process prevents access to the gallery better than a gallery with a single password. SmugMug is good people with a track record of not being douchebags—I wouldn't steer you wrong.

Obviously, the gallery is NOT SAFE FOR WORK, but it's not porn, either. If you're not offended by bare skin, you should find everything in the gallery to be tasteful and artistic.

A quick update and a question.

In medical news, I'm doing pretty well. I had surgery on my right elbow last month and I'm healing well, but I didn't start physical therapy until three weeks after the operation (thanks to the VA), so regaining my range of motion is going slower than it should. I can already comb my own hair, eat, and do a lot of things on my own, so I'm really happy with my progress, but my doctor wants to see more ending during my next checkup. I've scheduled more therapy sessions to try to oblige him.

My legs are essentially back to one hundred percent function. I can crouch without pain and can even run, although my weird arms are still an issue when swinging during a run. Looks weird and my hands keep catching the treadmill safety cord and cutting off the machine.

And my disability claim was approved by Social Security, so I have an income now. I had been told by everyone that all initial claims were denied per SOP, but two days after a return email from one of the three congressmen I had written to, I had a check for the prior four months and the SS website said I was going to be getting a new check every month from now until I'm determined able to work again. SS Disability doesn't have a finite term–it's permanent until it's turned off.

Now a question: What the hell happened to the RobArm website? I watched a few ammo videos on Youtube and was interested in seeing if RA had any news products. When I went to look up caliber conversion kits, I found squat. In fact, almost every page of the site was greeted with "Error occurred: 404 - not found." And I don't know if this matters, but the hotter says Copyright 2011. Really? Is this the best RA can do? Are so few people buying the rifles that they can't afford to pay some kid minimum wage to update the site?

In return for your support, I offer these newly processed images of Elaina at Infinite Ale here in Ocala. I discounted these photos after the photo shoot, but can't remember why. When I took another look through the album, I thought they might make excellent images and I was right. Enjoy:
