I shared some photos of Elaina a couple of years ago and we've been trying to work together ever since. We finally got the chance and she provided a great prop in this old wing-back sofa.

The style I was going for with the first two was sort of a 1940s Hollywood glamour kind of thing. The others were just an excuse to make her look sexy. This gorgeous girl has self-esteem issues and it never ceases to amaze me that she thinks she's not that attractive.

Do you have lighting/hair/makeup person....or have you just learned how to do it all by necessity?

Elaina is also a makeup artist and she's really good at it. In fact, her friend was at this shoot and after seeing some of the results, she asked for a few shots of herself and Elaina did her hair and makeup in about 40 minutes.

Typically, I just give my input as to what kind of look I want to see and let the model do her own makeup. If she knows an artist who can help with that, that person is welcome to join us.

I bring my own lights to indoor sessions.

I've been fiddling with my Tumblr page and I think I've found a theme I like (for now). Tumblr allows nudes (hell, the site allows hard-core porn), so I can share nudes I've shot without worrying about getting rebuked for it. Unfortunately, this also means a lot of work servers will block the site, so you may not be able to view it from where you work. (Maybe that's a good idea.) Anyway, if you'd like to see what's there and what's to come, the address is https://pdbreske.tumblr.com. Use the "Archive" link at the top of the page to see everything I've posted to the site.

I don't want to get rid of my SmugMug page because I can use those files to share on every forum I'm active on, like this one. If I were to cancel my SM account, virtually every image I've shared on this thread would disappear. Don't want to do that.

    News:

I had surgery on my left hand on the 19th and I'm doing well. Surprisingly well, actually. Especially considering my hand looks like it was stitched together by Dr. Frankenstein. It was slightly swollen for the past couple of days, but this morning it took a turn for the better and right now it feels really good. Until I start exercising and stretching, then it hurts like a mother. Physical therapy starts in earnest tomorrow morning and for at least 12 weeks after that. Fun stuff.

I met a new model who lives right here in Ocala and we have discussed some ideas for upcoming photo shoots. I think you guys will like her. I need to wait until my hand is in better shape, but soon....

I've also changed the forwarding and masking on my professional domain, so pdbreske.com always shows in the browser title bar when you visit my tumblr site. So now you don't have to jump through hoops to see my naked girls. You're welcome.

Here's a picture of the hand. I hope you haven't just had dinner.

Thanks. It's healing really quickly. The doctors did a better job of closing these wounds than they did with my left elbow, which to this day has a pretty good scar.

Damn dude, don't play with fire yeah.

Glad to hear you're progressing though. Doesn't seem have diminished your eye for photography.

I finally fixed the links in the first thread to various posts about photography tips and info. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of dead photo links throughout the thread, but I think most of them were older color versions of my work and I simply don't do that anymore. My website will always be the best place to see recent work.

The City of Ocala has contracted me to photograph the line crews and support personnel of the publicly-owned electric department. They need framed prints for their headquarters building and they want to highlight the various teams that make up the department. I'm getting paid to follow the guys working the delivery lines (unfortunately, not the high tension lines that feed the region) and some pretty cool behind-the-scenes rooms at HQ. I'll also supply the finished framed work, so this should be a pretty good payday.

This is the kind of work I love—getting to see and shoot what most people never see and may not even know exists. They have a control room that looks like something at NASA with four giant monitors on the wall and a bunch of desks surrounded by seven monitors each. This week they'll be replacing a transformer at a site near where I live and I'm looking forward to shooting that. It's the size of a large van and costs $1.5 million. They even gave me a uniform shirt and hard hat with instructions to all the crews to accommodate me as much as possible.
