Ribeye is the best cut because of all the marbling (aka fat) inside the meat. This "fat" is what gives Ribeye it's flavor and you should never marinate.
Ribeye is so good that you can actually eat it raw, someone showed me this once. Just thinly slice it, use lime juice to cure for about a minute, and then put hot sauce, salt, and pepper to taste on it.. and bam! awesomeness without a heat.
