    Hello folsk, Rich from Ky

New guy here, don't own a XCR yet but I've got an order opened with Alex at Robinson Arms (which I'm pretty sure is actually Alex Robinson himself. Should be taking possession in the next few months. We're going with a XCRM pistol, 9.5in barrel, the mini receiver with tucked gen 3 gas system, tailhook on the fast 2 stock extension (not compatible with fast 3 stock due to length of pull with pistol brace per ATF), and new DMR style decreased take-up/weight/reset trigger. Going to order a 14.5 with pinned AAC brakeout 2.0 hider/can mount and fast 2 stock later on. Only thing I don't particularly like is the charging handle. Is anyone making a folding charging handle yet?

    Howdy Rich! Welcome!

Congrats on joining the tribe.....your search for the perfect rifle has just lead you to the best little forum in the whole wide web.

That's the good news....heres the bad: the mountain man charging handles are slick, bit hard to find.....I haven't seen one in ages, and there's no current scuttlebutt about another run.

Welcome! I think the folding charging handle is moot. Besides, I think you can't use the forward assist (forward jam) with the folding handle.

I didn't realize the forward assist was integrated into the charging handle. Thanks for that heads up mjorin.

The charging handle has a small spring and you push towards the side of the receiver and it moves in about 3/16 th of an inch and then you push forward. There were some metal charging handles made, same shape just gnarled and metal.
