Feds: 26 AK-74 assault rifles stolen from Army post

    Oopsies.

    By Michael Martinez, CNNJuly 30, 2011 9:36 p.m. EDT

Twenty-six AK-74 rifles and one Dragunov rifle were stolen from the Fort Irwin Army Post in Fort Irwin, California.

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Federal authorities are investigating whether any of the 26 AK-74 assault rifles and a Dragunov rifle stolen from the Fort Irwin Army Post has ended up in Fresno, California, a spokesman said Saturday.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have offered a ,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals behind the July 15 theft of firearms from an army supply warehouse in Fort Irwin, California, an ATF official said.

Authorities said some arrests were made after employees at the storage warehouse were interviewed, but no further details were available Saturday and other suspects were still being sought.

Federal authorities have received reports that some of the firearms have reached Fresno, and authorities have notified officials there of that possibility, a spokesman told CNN.

"Although our agents and officers are vigorously investigating this theft, we request the public's assistance to help us arrest and prosecute those individuals responsible for this crime," special agent John A. Torres of the ATF's Los Angeles office said in a statement. "Community participation is necessary to improve the likelihood that ATF and our law enforcement partners will track down the firearms as well as the criminals who have sought to destabilize our community through illegal activity."

With the amount of illegal firearms the government is putting out on the street, we need another government agency to police the government agency that controls firearms...... :duh:

(The new agency thing was a joke in case someone thinks I'm serious about that)

I'm thinking Obama and company are building another crisis to fool Americans into agreeing we need gun control. They are always thinking of taking advantage of a crisis.... or creating one so they can then do it.

Can't have that, someone might get hurt. Then there would be all kinds of paper work.

The gang info isn't anything new.
This has been going on in the military for years. A lot of these guys do end up getting out the gangs and making something of themselves, but like everything else there are a few fukups that spoil the pudding!

I can tell you that in the 90's if senior NCOs or Officers caught wind of the blatant display of gang signs in an NCO club then heads would have rolled and there would have been some serious repercussions including Article 15's.

We're living in a world that seems to be getting scarier and scarier. I sure hope guys on this forum have started thinking about possible bug out plans for them and their families and have at least had a conversion with some of their close friends on what to do and where to go when things finally go shitty. And make no mistake thinking that it's going to to get better. There will be an explosion of violence in this country. i wrote a paper on this in the 90's.....looks like I'll be about 10yrs or so off, but I truly think that things will get very interesting in this country within the next 3-5yrs. I sure hope I'm wrong!!!
