    SureFire Disappointment

My XCR is coming together nicely. It was missing a weapon light, so I purchased the SureFire P2X Fury and a cheaper light mount for $25. When I got home, I realized that the light mount doesn’t quite fit and feels a bit cheap – so I returned it. I got myself a SureFire light mount for $50, which looked pretty solid. Unfortunately not even 30 seconds out of the box, the little screw snapped.

No problem I thought, I’ll contact SureFire and I am sure they’ll fix it... Not so much. What a waste of $50. I’ll never buy SureFire again – their support stinks.

Thinking about buying the Magpul light mount now... thoughts?

I'm surprised, I had an LED go bad and they replaced it with a quick turn around time.

So maybe there still is hope.

Try removing the screw and replace it with a stronger one.

I would have to drill it out... but the plastic part would probably get damaged in the process. And I don't have a drill press.

Ok. No worries, if you were closer I would say send it to me and I could try a screw extractor.

I had contacted SureFire via email on Jan 5th, they replied very quickly and asked for a picture. I sent them a picture of the broken mount. Then I didn't hear anything. I sent a follow-up email on Jan 8th and another follow-up on Jan 14th. No reply until I posted on their Facebook page. Today I did get a reply, asking me to send it to them via FedEx or UPS. I explained that the shipping cost would outweigh the purchase cost - went out and purchased a magpul mount - then SureFire replied and said they will make an exception and send me a replacement mount. Not quite sure if I like the position of the light, but the magpul mount seems really solid.
