Slowly still. If you are interested in something, let me know.

I even fiddled around with trying to convert a bullpup (FS2k) to 6.5 to get a longer barrel into a shorter package.
    Hey Tom,

What about 16" bbls? I'm sorta toying around (but not seriously yet) with buying a new XCR with the comp length, KM upper and 16" bbl...but chambered in 6.5G. Any idea if losing those extra 2" just makes it a dumb decision?

In my opinion, 16" is about where 6.8 and 6.5 meet. Shorter than 16 and you want 6.8. Longer and you want 6.5. At 16" I'd say the 6.5 has a slight advantage over the 6.8 (at least on the numbers), at longer ranges, but it seems like it's mostly a toss up.

There's a bunch of numbers and discussion on the internet.

This thread has some useful data: Serbia adopting 6.5 Grendel: New Zastava Arms battle rifle in 6.5 Grendel - The AK Files Forums

And here's the Alexander Arms claimed data: http://www.alexanderarms.com/images/...ballistics.pdf

The AA data has to be taken with a grain of salt, since they obviously have a dog in this fight, but there's no reason for them to skew the comparison between barrel lengths on their own round.

Is there any information on what barrel lengths RA will offer in 6.5?

There's only 18.6 listed in their parts list. I've not pressed the issue to see what else they're offering or to see if they're going to go longer. "Custom" lengths have always been an option but the longest I've seen offered standard are 20" barrels on the M.

18.6 is probably a good length for 6.5G that won't be too unwieldy to carry around. I'd love to see some longer options, too, though.

It's funny how much of a difference a couple inches can make, even with a light barrel. I think 18.6 is going to be just right, especially for me where it's the minimum legal length for non restricted semi auto in Canada.

Are these actually shipping now? Has anyone seen one in the wild?

I've got one ordered after Holly said they were "ready". Haven't seen one yet.
