I'm planning on hounding Alex about a.22 conversion for the XCR-L. Who wouldn't buy one? Anything else?
Anybody planning on attending SHOT 2018? It would be great to meet up with some more forum members.
Also, anything members want those of us attending to put eyes and hands on or questions asked please post here and we'll do our best.

Mlok upper with oversize tunnel to fit suppressors?

Meh...I'm over the .22LR thing. For what it costs now, it's not really a great training aid IMO.
Isn't the thickness of the fore end greater on Mlok?....which is why it did better in testing. You're just adding weight and if the OD of the handguard doesn't increase for the added thickness, the ID will get even smaller so fitting a suppressor inside becomes even less likely (not that you can fit one now anyway).

Recoil with 22LR is non-existent (especially when the XCR is as heavy as it is). Don't seem like there is much to be learned from running it as a training aid. To me, higher on the want list is a X39 STANAG mag that feeds reliably. After all these years, and thousands of new AR doohickies invented, there still isn't a definitive go-to solution. A bit surprising.
Even higher on the want list is the ability to buy a stripped lower that accepts AK mags!
Fool-proofing serves only one purpose: identify bigger fools.
Yes, AK lower that takes AK mags!!!! Exactly my thoughts on why .22LR isn't that big of a help for training, Fmunk.
Hoping the new X39 Hill & Mac Gunworks Stg-44 mags *might* work....but they aren't even out yet, so we can't test 'em. Though I've gotten really fortunate....been running my 9" XCR in X39....not a single issue feeding or otherwise with fully loaded 30 round ASCs (and the new 20 rounders too).

Sincere question, why go?
I just don't see spending all the money to get there. Now, if it were a couple hour drive on my end and perhaps could kill two birds with one stone by going to the location, I could see where it might be cool to check all the new stuff coming out.
Seems like every tom dick and harry with a video camera goes anyway.
We have expo's in my industry, but in general, it's for people in the industry. I've been to a couple of those, and it's good information gathering, but just don't see where it benifits me by going to this "gun show". Can you actually buy anything there as an individual?
If assholes could fly, this place would be JFK international.
