Yep...a lot more small parts, like ARs have. Just not a fan comparatively.

Maintenance on the XCR for me was mostly preventative and a couple of broken parts. Maintenance was simply tightening and lock tilting parts. The BHO broke a couple of times.

The Virtus has been faultless so far and unlike the MCX doesn’t destroy AR triggers without a bridge so mine has the Geissele SD3G fitted and that makes it a lot of fun. The only thing I miss vs the XCR is the bolt release. That works the same as the AR so it’s no big deal. If you need spare call Sig directly and over t8me spares will emerge.

Only moderately related: Did 5.45 never make it to retail? Or did RA stop supporting it? I don't see it on the RA website at this point.

I bought a 5.45 kit from Terra via this forum, and I've run through quite a lot of crappy steel case ammo with it (with no problems at all).

It did. First gen came out. It had some chamber issues. It went away. Came back briefly. Then died. I was able to get a type 2 5.45 bolt so it was supported for awhile. Found a couple kits in the wild on gunbroker. They were part of a package deal with rifle.

Thanks for the answer. I was wondering if there was something I should be doing.

Were your broken BHOs the peg style or the newer ramped ones?

Sucks too..that's one caliber I'd like to pick up.

IIRC, 5.45 lost momentum in the market when ammo supply dwindled due to sanctions.

Yeah. Definitely didn't help the cause. Second gen 5.45 was in "testing" for a long time

Yeah the price increase due to the sanctions didn't help either. Still about the same price as 7.62x39.

I have searched the site (I realize this is off topic) and not found anything.

I have two XCR-L with the quad rails I have been considering having three milled off and changed to M-lok. Has anyone done this and if so who did you use?
