I know DIY suppressors are a thing and websites exist for that purpose where you buy the parts, get your form 1 and make your suppressor.....but this just seems like an ATF entrapment scheme.

    Those sites are Fudd/prepper heaven.

There are others that sell legitimate form 1 can goodies and are designed for DIY manufacturing.

I’ve actually considered it. Could be a fun little project.

Plus form 1 approval wait times are down to days apparently and not weeks.

I really hadn't thought about the wait time issue. That actually makes it seem a lot more reasonable to DIY.

Except for the fact that the "kits" out there are generally old technology sealed systems. The only two flow through can designs I know of are NG2 Defense and OSS.

I'm frankly surprised other manufacturers haven't followed suit; maybe it's a patent thing, but no cyclic rate change, greatly reduced fouling of the action/mags....they weigh a little more and are a little bigger, but the first two things to me are worth it.
