    XCR HBAR Fluting?

I received my first XCR today. I ordered the rifle in 5.56 from an out of state dealer sight unseen. Apparently there was a mixup or misunderstanding and I received the heavy barrel instead of the light barrel which I thought I was ordering. Rather than send the barrel back, I believe I'm going to flute the barrel to lighten up the front end a bit. My question is has anyone else gone this route and if so can they recommend someone to do the barrel fluting?

Most of the guys here use Adco. http://www.adcofirearms.com/shopservices/

I will be using them as well as soon as funds permit.

ADCO has done three for me. They do great work and the turn around is fast...at least it was.

Great, thanks for the info guys. I reckon I'll give ADCO a try. Their website looks promising at least.

Gr8 will probably answer this....you probably already know this (and there's nothing wrong with it), but just to make sure you don't have any "why isn't X responding to me?" moments, you realize you're replying to threads that are 3 and 4+ years old right?....and some of those people may or may not still be in the community....

Yes, I am aware. Just thought it might be easier than starting a new thread. I know others might jump in as well.

I used adco for both of my barrels. Very nice work.

Not to resurrect this thread again, but that link is out of date. Here’s a picture of my ADCO 4-flute barrel before and after the camo paint job. I also had it shortened to 14.5 inches and pinned the flash hider to keep it legal:

    And this is just because:
