    Polytech aks Good or Bad?

I wanted an Arsenal but they were out of my budget for an AK47. I won an auction on Gunbrokers for a Poly Tech AKS. I need to know if they are any good. Please help.

It is not the milled receiver. I think that is the legend. I think I got a good deal as all of the other ones are a lot more money. I paid $625. It has a wood pistol grip and wood stocks, he is also sending me a wooden thumbhole stock. It is in excellent condition. Ill post pic when I get it. Thanks for the uplifting news I hope its a good buy.

The Poly Tech Legend AK-47/S (milled), and the AKS-762 was the stamped version.either way, both great rifles and from what I can tell an excellent buy, pending condition of course.those rifle are going upwards of $1000 up to about $1400 now.Be glad you got the stamped version, the milled is a little to heavy for my personal taste, which defeats one of the virtues of the AK (lightness),and IMPO isn't necessary, especially for a non full auto gun.An easy way to tell if an AK receiver is stamped or milled is the stamped has dimples over the magwell and the milled has longer lightening cuts, which look like a rectangular depression.

It is a Poly Technologies AKS 762. The more I research it the better I feel about this buy. I will post pics when I get the rifle.

I have the Norinco in .223, a Russian AK in 7.62x39, and a Krebs 03 in 7.62x39. They all work great, I am sure your Poly will too. For being handy on the bench or in the house you may want to pick up a couple of the Hungarian 20 round mags. They were made for vehicle use and are handy as hell. My 30rounders are Yugoslavian, and they hold the bolt open after last shot (the bold still drops when you remove the mag to reload).

A visiting Russian Paratrooper, at Fort Benning, taught me a quick reload technique. You use the loaded magazine in your left hand to kick the empty free. Insert mag and reach under the horizonally tilted gun to rack the bolt. You are pointed in the direction of the target so are almost instantly ready for the threat. > ;D

I have the Norinco MAK-90 milled made in the "386" Poly plant.

Sweetest AK trigger I've ever pulled, and deadly accurate. >

Got a Walnut AK stock set from Ironwood, just haven't installed it yet. 8)

Badman, Swap out that ugly ass stock for something like a TAPCO and it will LOOK as good as it shoots. :duh: :2cents:

No offense, but I wouldn't cheapen this baby with a Tapco. I've already bought a solid Walnut stock set from Ironwood Designs.

Planning on leaving it natural and just rubbing Tung oil into the Walnut.

The Walnut in original AK stock design will take it to it's original glory and beyond. 8)
