The brake might help deflect the flash out to the sides, but it won't really do much of anything to reduce it.
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I have never shot an AK-74. Does the muzzle brake help eliminate the flash from your line of sight? I heard people say the Ak-74 brake produces a bright flash in low light. The primary night vision scope for the AK-74 is the NSPU. If the Ak-74 produces a bright flash at night, wouldn't that shut off your night vision scope?

That guy, he said I should be oblong and have my knees removed. But I don't trust him, he plays the banjo.
the brake does not attenuate flash much. it was intended for full auto fire to keep the muzzle rise to a minimum to increase second and subsequent rounds hit probability.
Does anyone know if the Ak-74 brake's flash would shut off a NSPU night vision scope?
