    GunPal is Scam

I posted in the donations thread but I think this warrants it's own separate thread. I did not realize just how bad GunPal was until I tried to withdraw funds to my bank account. After researching online it appears people typical can wait for months to get their money.

Has anyone had similar issue with their GunPal account?

The strange thing is that when you create a Link to your bank account they deposit the 25 cents or whatever your amount happens to be within a couple of days but when you actually need to withdraw money it can take months. That doesn't make any sense.

On top of taking months to withdraw, they also seem to lose your money sometimes too.

    Bottomline: Don't use gunpal.

Sorry, I sent my donation via GunPal. I used it once to sell a firearm and it took a week and a half to get my funds. I thought it took so long because it was the first time I had used it with a linked account, but evidently not.

Wow. I'm sorry to hear this as I too sent my money via gunpal. I do know there were problems when they were switching banks (or something like that) buy I thought it was fixed now.

I'm on my phone now so I can not link it (I just don't know how to, I will edit later if needed) but gunpal has a forum/thread on calguns.net that gets read by the people who run gunpal.

    Edit:

After looking at the above link, holy crap, I wish I knew about this first. I had high hopes for them as paypal is so anti gun.

You have to understand how it all works. In any case, when people withdraw their funds, they should have it disbursed within 3 business days either by Check or wired/direct deposit funds.

Now, with that said, GP and PP both benefit by people keeping their funds in the account. They can use those funds for various things. I know how that sounds, but it is the same way your bank lends out money, by using your deposited funds.

It sounds like GP is having a cash flow problem of some kind. In order for them to get out of it, one way for that is to have more people keep funds within their GP accounts, but when it take so long to withdraw the funds, people withdraw them rapidly, etc which leads to a vicious circle.

I wouldn't expect GP to be around very much longer. Few people have anything good to say about it except that it accepts electronic payments for firearms (which PayPal has no basis not to). You can still use PayPal if you know how to use it for payment on firearms.

It took a month for them to make the small deposits into my account for verification. Maybe I should cancel membership. ???

You're lucky that you got a sign to close the account before you lose any real money. For me, the deposit was almost overnight and gave me a false sense of security.

I don't see how they can do the verification deposits within a few days and then claim their systems aren't working to transfer the full amount! Which is why I feel that this is a scam and not an honest screw up on their part.

If you sent it by PayPal or snail mail I got it.

I have not gotten any money that was sent by GunPal. I'm not holding my breath. As far as I'm concerned they are thieves.
