Here's a little update to the shot show info:
Magpul is also releasing their new 20 round magazines. "2 weeks" is what came straight from their mouth. My dealer ordered several UBR stocks and 20 round mags as they are slated to be released in that same time frame. They are still working on their AR lowers. It's not a high emphasis product for them as they say it won't be a big money maker. I stopped by a couple of different booths with the Masada. One booth had Remington, Bushmaster on it. The other was Magpul. Here's the conflicting info: The Bushy people would let us place orders on the ACR or whatever it's final name will be. They said it wouldn't be avail for order until the end of '08. Now, the Magpul people were completely surprised by this cause they are still saying 2nd qtr. '08. They asked if we placed orders but we told them the different date. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out. Sounds like there is mix-up in communication between them. They also stated that Bushy will have final say on barrel length options.
Handled the SCAR. It's heavy. Maybe it was the optics, I think a Louie CQB or something like that. But I'll be honest... my opinion... The Masada is far more attractive both aesthetically and ergonomically. MY opinion only. The FN just seemed pieced together instead of being one integral unit.
PWS has a new flash hider/break that is a bi-lock mount for use with the Gemtech G5. This sucks since I just bought a couple of the regular hider/breaks, and a YHM suppressor.
HK was HK. They did have a UMP .45with an M4 style stock on it. I talked to someone not too long ago that said some departments were sending their UMP .45's back with broken stocks. After seeing what I say today, that just might be right.
Tomorrow going to try to hit POF and LWRC to see what they have going on and check on delivery times for their .308.
This show is MASSIVE. In fact, it's too big. We were there all day and saw maybe a 16th of what's here. It's hard to put into words just how much stuff related to the firearms industry is out there. After today I really had a new appreciation for our freedom in this country. The shot show is truly a multi-national event and you all these guns that you can play with and no one even bats an eye at you. My friend said it best when he said "Today I had an HK 416 with a grenade launcher in my hands... I can't believe it". I simply said "yeah this is truly the greatest country that God has given us... too bad folks like Hillary want to ruin it".
I'll try to get more photos. I saw tons of people taking pics today and no one was raising a fuss. So hopefully I'll have no issues.
