Interesting movie in the works...

Based on the short story Harrison Bergeron by celebrated author Kurt Vonnegut, 2081 depicts a dystopian future in which, thanks to the 212th Amendment to the Constitution and the unceasing vigilance of the United States Handicapper General, everyone is finally equal... The strong wear weights, the beautiful wear masks and the intelligent wear earpieces that fire off loud noises to keep them from taking unfair advantage of their brains. It is a poetic tale of triumph and tragedy about a broken family, a brutal government, and an act of defiance that changes everything.

Featuring an original score performed by the world-renowned Kronos Quartet (Requiem for a Dream) and narration by Academy Award Nominee Patricia Clarkson (Far From Heaven, Goodnight and Good Luck), 2081 stars James Cosmo (Braveheart, Trainspotting, Narnia), Julie Hagerty (Airplane!, What About Bob?) and Armie Hammer (Justice League).

This film was made possible by a generous grant from The Moving Picture Institute and its donors.

The Omega Man. That was my favorite on the list. Probably because it starred Charlton Heston. A gunner to the bone! :'(

Omega Man was awsome. Wasn't Charlton in Soylent Green also? I never heard of Zardoz or Silent Running. Was that a movie about a submarine?

Well let's see, we've got a little less than 6 billion now. Scientists say another billion before 2020, then another billion in 2030 then another by 2039, then another by 2048. Anyway we're a procreatin' bunch.
Earth with 25 billion humans and we've consumed all the animals and most of the vegetation on the planet. The only thing in abundance is..well..people. We'll be there in a hundred years.

Mmmmm soyyyylent greeeen (insert Homer Simpson drool sound). I wonder if soylent green made from mexicans will be spicy?

Oh yeah, I thought Samuel Colt made all men equal? ;)

I remember reading something with a simular plot. Maybe 8th or 9th grade. The movie will have limited appeal (like "V", Ultraviolet, Aeon Flux), but if they do a good job producing it I'll like it.
