Of the 2 options specifically designed for 300blk, which mag is better for the xcr? Lancer or Magpul?

My Magpuls work flawlessly. On a fully loaded mag, and closed bolt you do have to smack it in though. Open bolt no issue.

And are those the 300blk specific magpul mags?

I have both. And both work.

I usually use the regular ones though as I have more of them.

The 300blk specific ones are designed to work better with the larger subsonic stuff. But normal 220 lead core subs work fine in regular mags.

IME, Lancers are less reliable than pmag gen 3s

I have been running the Lancers in mine. I picked them mainly because I didn't have any Lancers in another caliber and it helps me keep them separate from all my other AR mags due to the look of them. I have not had any problems using mainly the 20 round mags.
