Lex, please pin this.
We started the RA 6.5 some time ago. It is chambered for the 6.5 Grendel round. In our first batch of rifles we went with what we
thought were the proper chamber dimensions. However, we were losing primers. We later found out that critical chamber dimensions
are too tight. This caused the primes to pop out. So, we are going to get some new chamber reamers made and try again. We're sorry for the delay but other engineering projects have taken a priority. We hope to have the 6.5 ready by Christmas.
We would also like to know what other cartridges you are interested in. One possibility is the 5.45x39mm Russian cartridge. Right now
it's abundant and cheap. Another possibility is a 6.5x45 that goes in a modified 5.56 case. In other words, you could resize your 5.56 brass and have a 6.5 which uses the same bolt, magazines, etc. as your 5.56 XCR. All you'd have to do is change the barrel. I cannot
give you the performance features of this ammunition yet. I do not have it. It's potential is, however, very good. (The cost of a
conversion kit would be 0 to 0 because it's just a barrel).
We have almost fulfilled all our promises to make conversion kits for the XCR-L available in 7.62x39mm, 6.8 SPC, etc. as well as
certain accessories you've all been asking for. We will add a few other calibers and stock options for the XCR-L as time goes on.. We
are obviously working towards offering an XCR-M .308 next. Please give us your input on the caliber conversion kits for the XCR-L.
Please do not pester our sales staff asking when this or that caliber kit or accessory will be available. They don't know. We will tell you what we're working on (under development). We'll post a notice on our website and on this forum when something is close to shipping and not before. It takes lots of time and money to design, test, and manufacture these products. Our stuff works well because we take the time to do it right. We have delivered what we said we would and we will continue to do so.
You should also note that there are some new accessories that you all have been asking for which should be announced next week if all goes well.. We appreciate your continued support and patience and value your input. We will continue to make the XCR the best, most
durable, and most accessorizable rifle on the market.
Sincerely,
