I have a question about breaking in the converted 7.62 rifle AFTER breaking the same rifle in 5.56. Is it the same process of firing around 400 rounds, lots of lube on the metal parts? With the conversion I assume the 'most new' part would be the 7.62 bolt.

I have the 5.56 XCR light on order and hopefully it will be here next month. I have the 7.62 conversion kit already. I was planning to break it in with 5.56 first.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

I would think that you only need to break it in once.
I believe that the BI process is mostly about the bolt carrier wearing to the upper receiver.
The carrier is not changed out for a conversion

Unless you want to spend the change on something else, just use Wolf and set the gas on 4,check the ejection distance. If it's slinging it out say 12-15 feet, just dial it back a notch.

I broke mine in on 4 for 200 rounds.
It is better to do it for 300 rounds. I like to try to break things. I could not get the XCR to fail.
