We'll see the next time I go out, I'm sure there will be an affect from barrel heat up but being 7.62x39 in the first place it was always more of a combat carbine then a target gun.
If you don't mind publishing....what is the OD at now for the bbl behind/in front of the gas block location?

I intended it to be 0.6-0.62" with a diagonal taper going up to the original thickness, but I screwed up on my dad's lathe not having run it in a long time and ended up with .56" on either side going up to the original thickness at the gas block journal and muzzle.

Thanks. I have the measurements somewhere for the X39 light profile that I sent off to ADCO. I need to actually send the bbl and have it turned down. If reprofiling would get me even close to a pound it would be worthwhile, though since I'm not cutting off any length, it's probably 8 ounces at best.
