Do the 7.62x39 XCRs use the same bolt/extractor as the 6.5x39? If so, does that meean that all I have to do to switch from 7.62x39 to 6.5x39 is change the barrel and put in the appropriate mag?

It's the same parent case.... same bolt. But you will end up with a spare bolt when you buy the conversion kit. Which is not a bad idea. :2cents:

gunner, I wasn't trying to save money on the bolt. Like you suggest, I would order the Con. kit because I would want a spare bolt anyway. It was more of an operational question on how easy/fast the caliber change change would be. With similar bullet weights and a 100RD zero, I wonder how much the zero would change out to 200 yards.

When I went from 5.56 to 6.8 it was only about 1 1/2 0ff at 100. That works for me in a pinch, until I can re-zero. :2cents:
