Hey. I've been a fan of XCR for awhile now, but just haven't "pulled the trigger" and bought one.

A buddy is selling his and I'll probably get it. It's got an older gas block that requires an allen wrench (I think). Anything I should know about this rifle? Can or should it be retrofitted/upgraded?

The new gas block isn't absolutely necessary. It's just a nice, simple, and better version to have. If you're okay with using a tool to adjust your gas block, then I wouldn't worry too much about it.

You can PM me the serial number, and I can check on it for you.... If it starts with XL00, there's a chance it *might* need upgrades. You can reference the list of serial numbers on our website, too. I don't know how old the XCR is, it might be just fine.

You won't need to send it in if you're just upgrading your gas block... which is probably the only addition that's changed.

I bought it last night. Man, I like this rifle. This one's got a heavy barrel. He bought it new and (like me), has so many rifles and so little time that he never fired it. It's NIB!!!

I want to update the gas system since I do have a 5.56 silencer and may need easier adjustment. Two of my AR's are SBR's that I use the can on. Looking forward to some range time soon (hopefully). May have to take aziator up on his offer to break it in for me ;D

You can order the new gas block on our website. It can take up to two months... These things have been selling like hotcakes. >_< I'm going to have to coerce someone into getting another upgrade batch done for me. Consider yourself cautioned.

Went to website. I definately got a deal, so I like this rifle even better. I think the rifle is front heavy. If I just buy a light barrel from RobArms, it will come with the new gas system anyway. I'll also order a updated GB for this barrel.

Terra told me that GB's are backordered quite a while. How long to get a replacement bbl?
